Levels to Achieve Fluency
Our courses are in line with the the official Chinese proficiency test called Hanyu Shuipin Kaoshi 汉语水平考试, known as HSK. HSK is the official recognised Chinese proficiency test used when applying to study or work in China.
It is also a guide to track your Chinese learning progress.
Elementary (HSK1)
Mandarin for absolute beginners. If you have little or no Mandarin learning experience, this is the course for you!
In this beginner Mandarin class, we prioritise pronunciation and basic sentence structures over vocabulary.
I include real-life examples for you to use straight away in your daily life. After ~10 weeks, you can expect to engage in basic conversation.

High Elementary (HSK2)
Chinese Mandarin for students who already have some learning experience and wish to build on their vocabulary.
In this class you’ll become familiar with Hanzi-Chinese characters (汉字), using Pleco (recommended Chinese dictionary App) and consolidating your pinyin spelling and recognition of Chinese characters.
I introduce more complex conversational topics and spelling exercises so that you can build confidence and hold daily conversations in Mandarin.
